Our GTS-A hood is constructed from dry carbon fiber, with reinforcing fibers strategically placed around the ventilation areas for enhanced structural integrity. The vented area is protected with a mesh grill (preinstalled and included in price). The total weight of the hood is 20lbs, compared to the original one weighing 28lbs.
We highly recommend applying Paint Protection Film (PPF) for optimal preservation and protection. We offer Pre-installed Xpel self-healing PPF at a significantly reduced price when bundled with the hood, saving you up two-thirds of the expenses you'd otherwise incur. This convenient package ensures your investment remains safeguarded. -

This carbon fiber hood is designed to fit with your original BMW bolts and brackets. Detailed installation instructions, including hardware specifications and required tools, can be found under the Installation Guide tab.
2. If you opted for Paint Protection Film (PPF), your package includes the pre-installed protection, ensuring your carbon fiber hood remains shielded from the elements. This optional feature is designed to keep your investment looking its best for years to come. -
Steps:
This installation is a two-person task.
Preliminary Steps:
A. Begin by removing the front hood clips by unbolting and unlatching them using a T25 tool. Transfer them to your new carbon fiber hood using the same hardware.
B. Remove the bump stops and transfer them to your new hood.
Installation Steps:
1. Start by unplugging the wiring harness from the old hood.
2. Proceed to unscrew or unlatch the 13mm nuts securing the old hood on both ends.
3. Carefully remove the old hood, taking it off from the brackets.
4. Place your new carbon fiber hood onto the original brackets and secure it with the original bolts. Do not fully tighten them at this stage.
5. Gradually tighten the bolts on both ends of the hood.
6. Adjust and align the hood as needed. You might need to perform 1 to 3 iterations to achieve the perfect alignment.
Important note: Throughout the installation process, it's essential to have one person positioned at each end of the hood to prevent any unintentional movement. This ensures a smooth and precise installation.
If you plan to apply Paint Protection Film (PPF) yourself, we recommend doing the PPF installation once step 6 of the hood installation process is finished.
